Looks okay on Mobile Safari
.BOTH on SH and CLG
CON, this only happens on the CLG front or home page (bec of the slideshow, featuring the Gospels).
Keeping it as is.
CLG Main page floating chat icon looks ok on Safari – Mobile phone
Solution: don’t use IE 😀
Should we put verbiage like “best viewed on Safari, etc”?

BRUTE, nah.
We’ve super tested CLG. The Main page looks ok in Safari.
I agree with DBA. The post below should be stickied:

Any admin – stick it out! :-p
Hey I made it Sticky and then found a bug in my WP Theme. I have to figure out and write code to fix it. But for right now, let’s just use the link. I’ll fix it later.
Much Faster:
I added the TO DO link to the Menu above: Lookie!
Will remove later.
Suggestion: Increase the number of days after which the Comments are automatically closed.
I mean if even admins are getting moderated – spammers won’t get in and leave comments since we’ve guarded the login and registration pages.
Ok. Done. I increased it.
And plus I can’t leave comments on older posts.
Log in or visit more often then. 🙂

Updates?
Made temporary Menu link instead, so it’s visible even on the Forum side.
Is anybody receiving email notifications for comments here? I seem to only get Forum Subscription notifications. (So i remember to unsubscribe) lol!
Haven’t checked my email in ages. You check yours? We can do that (checking the email notifications) when we open registration again.
I think Sys or DBA changed the setting on CLG to “subscribe by default” to be set to OFF. One less box to tick.
CW if you are finished with all the books in the OT, don’t forget to switch it back to ON for the Forum. Topic creators must be notified by email if someone has spent time responding to their post.
I’ve completed the OT in the Forum, so I am enabling it again. Thanks!
Topic subscription option on post editor – checked/enabled
Enable this option if you want the topic subscription checkbox to be checked by default.

ISSUE: Long link breaking down post. Look:
what-does-the-forum-group-chat-look-like-when-logged-in/#post-757
Changed code from this:
/*Automatically adjust long links to responsively fit smaller screens current version*/
a.wpforo-default-attachment {
max-width: 100% !important;
width: 100% !important;
}
To THIS:
/*Automatically adjust long links to responsively fit smaller screens current version*/
a.wpforo-default-attachment, a.wpforo-auto-embeded-link {
max-width: 100% !important;
width: 100% !important;
word-wrap: break-word !important;
}
.wpforo-attached-file {
word-wrap: break-word !important;
}
The internal long links break down. But external links don’t, especially when tested on other browsers. We can modify the “Link Text” instead.
SUGGESTION: Make chat Read Only for Guests or make it public for CLG?
I changed to:
Display chat messages as read-only.
Let’s test.
Reverted back. Disabled this instead.
Require users to be logged in to view and use the chat box.
Reverted back to previous settings
Something got messed up in the process. CW lost a couple of hours figuring it out. Just work on the checklist so we don’t have too much re-work.
Never allow guests to post anything. Only members on SH (in order to avoid spam comments) – keep the settings CW set. She has experience & reasons on why those tech rules are there.
On CLG – even more so. If they are guests, they can read posts but not add to or comment on the posts.
On CLG, CW kept chat for members only bec the original goal for chat was for online prayers. That doesn’t have to be public, but among members.
SUGGESTION: Increase edit time for Forum Posts.
Increased to 15 minutes. (Normally people think and type, then copy paste from their device). “Think before we post.” 🙂
SUGGESTION: CW don’t go to that site anymore to avoid getting “angrier”.
Amen.
I got angrier too. Those who know about NLP can easily recognize the NLP techniques they use to program people.
Links don’t break down on the Comments on phone:
Like the link below:
https://www.shallhelp.com/session-aug-24-2020-monday/
Checked it. It breaks down on Chrome. Maybe doesn’t on Safari?
Link doesn’t work on the comment here:

Fixed comment link. Thanks!
OK, I knocked out everything on this TO DO LIST, up to this comment. If you find any more issues. Post it below this. Thanks for your help. Helpers. 🙂
Suggestion: put a contact form on CLG, for those who don’t want to register for membership.
Or also install CW ticket system here. So they can also attach files.
CW put AGDT on maintenance mode so links to the ticket page would not be accessible. Maybe too much going on and emails piling up too. Lots of automated emails going out on different forums, so its better to make contact page only for members. For urgent matters, they can always call her cel. She got doxxed remember? I don’t blame her for just putting her cel on perpetual DND mode. Except for her fave people who can still get through.
CON, currently, I can’t catch up. 🙂 No room for any more distractions.
The GOALs are as follows:
– to put all Scripture at CLG,
– take out all the tech blurb, out and put it here (because of the code snippets I wrote which will benefit other Admins here at SH) – I want to keep the Scripture intact over there at CLG, without the annoyance of our annoyance when we were setting up the portal in the beginning) – it will be more useful to HERE at our “Help Other Admins Forum” at SH.
– just consolidate all of my articles at CLG, either put it on my imperfect profile, or just merge it with another user.
– once all that is done, back up.
– clean all codes, so that it can be replicated and shared in our other portals (the scriptures).
– launch Simplified WP Theme Version 2.0, with latest version of Forum, Chat functionality with my customized code snippets.
If any of you can also write a timeline script, that would be super! 🙂
ALSO in addition to my thoughts on the TICKET software, only I can install it using my Developer’s License. Ya know, IP copyrights and stuff.
IF I will include that in the WP Simplified Theme as a package, quite honestly, I don’t want to be responsible for each and every installation. (Since I would not know if other Admins would want other plugins installed in their portals, and as you know, plugin and script conflicts are almost always inevitable and it’s a pain in the neck to always be hunting for code that causes these errors). And in the Simplified Theme, my name is there as the developer.
Maybe if I remove my name, but I won’t do that. 🙂
On CLG – You might want to reduce the font of the drop down menu, as you add more books and links to it, it’s now almost covering the entire page on phone view, smaller screens.
Also on Version 1.0 of your theme, you still have yet to hunt down whatever code or script that is causing the long links to automatically center. It’s ugly when some Links are on the left and The longer links are in the center.
On the Dropdown – yes I agree. I add a book completed as I complete them, and then doublecheck. I’d do that once the entire OT on the CLG Main site is finished. It’s important to make sure the HTML codes & content work first, then I’ll work on the design & appearance last.
Version 2 is coming up after I’m done with the OT. I will be scrutinizing code by the thousands, so redoing the theme would be faster for me.
The web content at CLG Main is the most important &’portability is key, for me too. The “search engine” I did at CLG is robust with no filtering on number of days “retrievability”. I noticed that on the forum – it had a 30 day count so I increased it to 365. But we have “evergreen” articles that need to get crawled and found when someone searches for it. I also noticed that on the forum, the boolean search seems to have an “or” instead of an “and” so those people searching for a string of two words, can only retrieve results for the first keyword.
Thanks for the input, but this will be addressed per the timeline of our SDLC. I cannot duplicate myself so I am documenting what I am doing ala “brain dump” – maybe other admins have a better solution or they can also suggest, that’s why we have several admins. 🙂
I am sleep deprived, but it’s doing great for my grieving, as I grieve I get encouraged by God’s words in scripture. I need HIS Help. 🙂
