  1. ShallHelp Chat Forum : Welcome to the Chat Forum! Chat sessions are automatically erased every 60 minutes. Just select the REFRESH link above to go to the latest chat session. We are glad you are here!
    Consultant : I’m here!
Consultant I’ll make new session post
    CrisW : Hi
    CrisW : thanks
CrisW : Spoke to Mod and Brute about possibly bringing the MP back but just closing the Vendor registration to people we know.
Consultant : DBA got onboard too?
CrisW : Not yet. She’s busy with her projects but said would check in here when she is able to.
Consultant : She usually agrees with you anyway. So What’s up this session?
CrisW : SysAdmin was complaining about the auto emails that are being generated by the comments section that the corp emails would have to get inundated, since he monitors all emails.
CrisW : He said he might end up ceremoniously deleting important emails
Consultant : I think, if I remember right, the forum only sends emails when the @ mention is used right?
CrisW : Let’s go check which and why we ended up using just the comments. I think we all got tired of the updates and then rechecking every single module each update for bugs then I try to find solutions, etc.
CrisW :I like the Forum because I’ve customized too much and have become a “free” consultant of it too! 🙂
CrisW : I like the developers and how they help out too.
Consultant : Ok. Let’s dig in to old posts. If I remember correctly, you had some issues with display names, etc.
CrisW :I think I had to scoop a former version because the last one we had was sorta “buggy”.
    CrisW :from CLG
Consultant : Are we backing up the forum first before you click the update? How many iterations have we missed?
CrisW : I think CLG was the most stable, and I won’t change that.
CrisW : That was why there are two forums there, our Tech ones and the Public One
Consultant : So are you making a clean install for the test?
CrisW : lemme check. Coz I wrote different scripts for CLG and SH

  2. Got called on to work at CLG SF – that one is at version 1.8.4. I password protected that part of the Forum because we were “debating” what to call it. “Share Forum”. I’ve done tons of code revisions there, so if we are to test the latest version, lets do it at CLG SF.

  3. Yes, I noticed the menu names were named different there. If you will just do a brand new install, the only things you need to tweak are the share codes.

  4. Solution for CLG is remove it from sidebar. I think the last time we tested it wasdue to the Forum versions and how the version had a conflict with the chat version.

  5. I put new CSS codes at CLG SF, so it went back to former state. I think the conflict was coming from the Forum version. I will update CLG SF now to the latest version.

  6. If the update breaks anything, that’s when I do a brand new core install and we start from scratch.

    Itchy,

    Hope not!
