  1. ShallHelp Chat Forum : Welcome to the Chat Forum! Chat sessions are automatically erased every 60 minutes. Just select the REFRESH link above to go to the latest chat session. We are glad you are here!
CrisW : I am typing the “debrief” from all the bouncing of ideas here so it’s easy to copy paste later.
CrisW : After careful consideration and also going back to the original vision for this website
CrisW : AND also considering the need to help other people who are not tech savvy, I have decided to go back to our original plan.
CrisW : We deviated because of an external organization who required my help, but well, you guys know how that went.
CrisW : So, I will work on the seven types of installations that used to be part of our main installation.
CrisW : While I do very much appreciate all the visitors of this website and the volunteer techies who donated their time, expertise, as we helped out each other test drive software and the inter-relationships and workability of such, we ALL learned from each other.
CrisW : And for that I am grateful. I have used this website and the Session Blog Posts here to timestamp billable work done, and also to give clients (and others who might be unaware yet) of how much time it takes to learn and apply software.
CrisW : No web development project is actually “static” – it is dynamic. And if a portal goes out, either from code conflicts, or the lack of I.T. Professionals to take over, the project gets unsustainable.
CrisW : That is why I have always created documentation for clients, so as I leave a project, they would have an appreciation of what was actually accomplished, and they have a technical manual they can go back to if they ever need a refresher, or an understanding, of how I built it.
CrisW : A lot ask me whether they can friend me on FB or any other social media sites. I don’t really go there much and I only created some accounts so that nobody else can. I was late in some social media accounts because some creep already registered as me. Yeah, identity theft.
CrisW : So, I will be working on this from this timestamp, onwards. I am keeping the site open, because other people look and read our progress and well, because this site has become like my own personal social media place where I publish “what’s on my mind” – with typos and all… (I used to be an Editor in Chief), these days, I just type. Because typos are funny
    Consultant : Great news!
    Consultant : Finally!
    CrisW : LOL!
CrisW : I will be breaking a lot of links again and so we can continue on the tech portal I will create for us. Please copy paste this and let’s make this our last chat session here.
CrisW : I will migrate all our Sessions here on the Tech portal.
Consultant : So you’ll create a chat there too?
CrisW : Yes, a tech chat.
CrisW : just for Tech Team test driving of other software and notes and such.
CrisW : There are lessons to be learned in all of these testing that we are doing.
CrisW : I will document all of these things that I will be doing on the seven portals, and then I will package it up as a course.
CrisW : I had a meeting with a membership consultant.. there’s pros and cons in just getting it integrated.
CrisW : Why pay, if there’s Moodle.
CrisW : Plus the “help and how to’s are already integrated in moodle.
Consultant : So that would be seven web development projects?
    CrisW : Yes.
Consultant : How long would that take for you?
CrisW : It would take me longer because I will create documentation / tech manual as I am doing it. So a lot of screenshotting.
CrisW : The idea is to be able to “duplicate” myself. There’s a lot of how to’s out there. But there’s a reason behind me doing it the way I do.
    Consultant : In Days?
CrisW : It’s going to take me approximately 80 hours. Tops.
Consultant : For each portal? So x 7?
    CrisW : More or less. 80 hours x 7 portals = 560 billable hours.
CrisW : I was so pissed actually when that other “freebier” wasted 8 hours of my time last week.
CrisW : But it worked out because it put that motivation in me to ALSO put the scheduler and ticket here, because that type of “trickery” don’t fly in my Tech Site.
CrisW : They got through to me because it went through another Techie whom I trusted.
    Consultant : Trusted?
CrisW : Yeah, I got hyped up. So, that’s why in my business card, I have a direct link to my appointment scheduler, no email address on my card. 🙂
CrisW : They create a ticket first.
    Consultant : HAHAHA!
Consultant : Yes we need that here too!
CrisW : I already type a lot of tidbit code snippets here for them, so those who don’t want to pay, they can learn it themselves too, or figure it out.
CrisW : I help who I feel led to help.
CrisW : Those who DEMAND help from me, don’t get it.
    Consultant : Sell a book!
    CrisW : Hahahaha!
Consultant : I always keep one tab open here. So, you will do the Tech portal first, then we hop there?
CrisW : Yes, I will Signal App message you when done.
CrisW : Please copy paste so Mod, Brute and DBA and Sys can see it.
    CrisW : Thank you!
Consultant : NP. See you later!
    CrisW : C U L8ter
    CrisW : C U L8er?
    Consultant : C U L8R ..
    CrisW : 🙂
    Consultant :YW
    CrisW : K
    Consultant :k
