I finished up to Chapter 12 last night. Process taken was
1) Record
2) Save as m4a (couldn’t save as mpg on the phone)
3) Upload on forum placeholder
4) Download on laptop
5) Batch convert files from m4a to mpg format (using my old software, the new software I tested last Friday, also INJECTS metadata on the file properties… grrr.) I know how to remove it, but it’s just tedious so I am using my old software converter). Yup “widow’s oil” concept from the bible … “use what you have.”
6) Upload on the server.
7) Add to the playlist, three steps
7.1) Title
7.2) Audio file source
7.3) Audio file link that would populate the plus (+) sign on the right side of the audio topic in the playlist
8) Added the playlist shortcode to the Links to Topics main page
9) Added the playlist shortcode to the Links to Test Page page
10) I removed ALL of the recordings from FCBH which injected hotlinks, metadata and images on the trimmed files I uploaded last Friday night / Saturday morning. I removed all those files from the server.
11) I also over removed the files I have replaced (Matthew 1 up to 12) from the server, BEFORE I uploaded the new replacements that has better quality.
12) Since I used an easier to identify LOONG naming convention on the original recordings, I have to make sure that the OLD files are NOT on the server. Why? Because when I upload the new replacement files, and they have the same title, it will automatically add the word “copy” on each and every file that is considered a duplicate. That’s why I copied the full exact file name of the old file, I renamed the old files, then it would be easier to identify, which old file to delete.
13) Once the renaming of the mpg files was done, I uploaded it onto the server.
14) Me doing it that way made it easier, to not have to re-encode (via hardcoding) on the topic page itself, where the file is.
15) Then I hit another issue, since the way I programmed media files path, from year then month, I had to go into some files that had the path names “2021/02” and other months and change them into “2021/12”
16) On the playlist, since the Matthew Audio Bible was already completed with the older poorer sound quality, I just thought it was easier to start a brand new playlist. I had to do them one at a time again, as detailed above.
17) Early this morning, I also finished the recording of Chapter 13. And then did the process outlined above.
This is a herculean task, for me, but I remember how it is, the old adage that goes, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time”.
Note that the old playlist will be removed, once everything has been replaced.
I’ll be working on Chapter 13 next. Before I start recording again tonight.
I am typing all these out also, so that the snoopers and spammers can also go to the links I post here, and maybe they can also read or listen to the bible 🙂
“5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, 8 being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” – James 1:5-8 KJV | Context: “Testing Your Faith” – (James 1:1-27)
Completed more recordings up to Matthew 16. Saved as m4a and uploaded on server, via the forum.
i still had to tweak the files I added earlier, and had to tweak the source codes on the phone. LOL!
I noticed it’s not too obvious for me, which is the old sound file or new file on the web, but if I access it on the phone, then the sound quality is what becomes obvious.
