Sunday night fellowship extended to really late – it was fine and fun and enlightening too, when another Sister in Christ reached out to me, and so instead of texting back and forth, I just did a return call. π
It was a share-a-thon! π
There is never a replacement for actual “talking” … like you hear another person’s voice, and you are both laughing! π
The break was great and it was a real blessing. Iron sharpens iron. π And two are better than one when praying too! So after that, I figured, nope I STILL have to continue on with the rest of the recordings no matter how late.
I finished the recordings of the rest of the entire Book of Mark! Woohoo!!! π
It felt like God gave me extra boost of energy…. and the mistake I made yesterday, where I was just recording and trying to keep a straight face and “serious tone” of voice, and I just couldn’t help but giggle, because it was the disciples talking among themselves and then Jesus said something to correct them. Then I thought, what that was like for the disciples. The written Word are letters we “see”, but when they are “spoken” the tone, the accent, also gives it additional depth of meaning. I wondered how much fun and laughter and smiles the disciples had with Jesus too, while they were all travelling from city to city, teaching, and preaching, and sharing meals.
So, in all the recordings what I have been doing was when I stuttered, or lisp, or cough, or make those mistakes, I would stop, listen to the recording, then save the part that is okay, and just do a replacement recording. Basically “overwriting” the part of the audio file with the mistake. There are some “mistakes” that were more like “unexpected background sounds”. Like sounds of sirens, or my belly grumbling from hunger LOL! The microphone is so unbelievably sensitive in picking up those sounds. The recordings I made several months ago, which ended last month that I had to replace, it was also filled with a lot of those background noises, as I was recording outside, at whatever time I could. But the sound quality, now comparing, the former sounded “muffled”.
With the recordings now, words are clearer. And so if I start even smiling, and then laughing, yeah…. it’s obvious and will be a “retake” and a “rerecord”.
Then an idea came to mind too. I just made a copy of those two OOPS recording, because it was for me, I still laugh when I listen to it. It’s “humbling” for me. God truly will and can use the “broken imperfect people” to share what He wants us to share.
Yes there are printed bibles. Gathering dust for a lot of people. Then there is now also an abundance of “different digital bibles”, take your pick on the gazillion different versions.
Then there are the different versions too, for the Audio Bibles.
Then there are different versions too, for “Dramatized”, “Non-Dramatized”.
You want fries with that?
And other choices, like, with “background music” or “no background music”. (Mine first had outside noise background, no other choice! :-))
So anyone (like how I was before, at first), got so confused, that I just thought I would “read or listen to whatever was there”. And then of course I ended up learning about those types of trackers and metadata, and all those other unnecessary intrusive things.
What I thought I needed, a simple KJV audio bible, I couldn’t find. The ones I listened too, often would also have “advertisements” in the middle of topics, or some topics where Jesus might be rebuking demons, the “sound of the voices” actually sounded crazy scary. Imagine if you would sleep with an audio bible playing, and then an advertisement would wake you, or the sound of a scary devil sounding voice would be playing, with background music even, or the sound of a man’s voice yelling. LOL!
So yes, that is why I also needed the audio bible that would not scare me to listen to it. Something that my future grandchildren can listen to as well. π
I also thought that it could be a good challenge for other Christ Followers to do the same thing. People usually would download “podcasts” or “listen to music” on their long drives.
How about you read the bible, record it while reading it, and then listen to that while you drive?
I did that when I was in postgraduate school, since I already had the conference call line. I would call it, record the conference call, while I am reading long clinical research papers the night before, doing my topic highlights and marginal notes while at it. Then, on my long drive, I will call the Conference Call Replay Line, and then listen to it during my long drive to med school. Then in class I was always prepared to actively participate in the class discussion.
Instead of saying “I can’t”, I always ask myself “How can I?” – that little switch of perspective totally changes my neuro pathways and way of thinking. π
We can always pray for Wisdom when we don’t know what to do. π
So far, in the Book of Mark, there are 55 recordings.
I don’t know how many recordings I finished up to way early this morning. But I know I hit the last “Next” button on the webpage Topics I was recording. We will know as now I will start the process of saving the Raw files in m4A format. π
39 raw files converted to m4a. Uploading those now to server
Uploads of m4as done. Starting downloads prep for mpg conversion.
39 m4a files downloading. Now converting to mpg format.
Now uploading 39 mpg files to server.
Now adding manually to 39 webpages the 39 recordings in mpg format. (While waiting for the entire batch to be uploaded)
This is also as a backup, so in case the playlist go wonky (like the first two Matthew batches, the original text, and audio per bible topic is and will be intact, would be easier to reconstruct, if ever).
Working on adding the 39 audios to the Mark Audio Bible playlist, beginning now
The Audio Bible Gospel according to Mark is finished! Woohoo!!!!
To GOD be the Glory! Thank YOU! π
Wow! 94 Audio Bible Recordings in the Book of Mark π
