OK. I got my answer. 360 character limit is the happy medium for the Pop Up Chat.

Anything higher than that will cause the other chat box to “jump” with other comments not being easily viewable, or would not be viewed completely, when a user scrolls the chat box screen up and down. Here’s a screenshot on why I am setting the default # of character limit to 360.

Final Testing on this is done. For the max limit that I configured, it cut off at 360 and it displays at 360 and does not autodelete, unlike other platforms that autodeletes a chat message without notification to the user. That’s poor UIX, with no prompt or notification to the user. Also, we are not posting any slides or templates to the chat box so that it doesn’t corrupt or mess around with how the chat box displays. It’s like advertising that gets shoved into chat participant. That’s not happening here. (And it actually IS much easier to keep it simple). I also finished the little tweak I did to the box, to jazz it up some, and make it uniform with how the rest of the revisions I’m doing on the design uniform.

  I also checked. There’s at least one other User Comment line that appears with the 360 limit. Mark as Solved and Closed?

Not yet! I’m copy pasting my observations I posted on forum chat: (on my phone 4give typos)

DBA : Yeah its looking weird on the forum widget. It auto expands on phone

  Let’s vote on it. I added a temporary menu above. While the design is ultra simple, of course it will have no other functionality too, except for the menu. I was just experimenting with it the other day. Kind of like the old school way of creating websites.
