I hit an error somewhere. Have to start all over with Matthew. I’ll create a new page for it.
Okay done with the redoing. Take two.
I thought initially it was the code tweaks that I did.
Then rather than figuring out what I did wrong, I just reconstructed.
Sometimes it is better to just start over, than split hairs. ๐
I most probably either hit the “Remove Media Player” by mistake,
Or
Forgot to Save or “Update the Media Player”
It’s most probably the first case, because I was able to test it on my phone and it automatically plays, even if the browser is closed (like an app would).
I think the position of the buttons, in terms of GUI, is prone to user error.
It should be “REMOVE” “EDIT”
instead of “EDIT” “REMOVE”
Usual button placements
“Cancel” “Save”
or
“Delete” “Save”
The “Save” button is usually on the last or the right side.
Yup, my user error because of the design that makes it prone to such an error.
I can suggest to the developer to put a prompt “Are you sure?”, so at least the user can pay attention that “oops they clicked the wrong button.”
No need for such a prompt on the “edit” button.
Beginning again – Chapter 8
I changed the skin of the player.
I should be taking screenshots…
Here’s a screenshot of the design 1 – classic
This looks good when you have a couple of audios in the playlist. However, after many many … the bottom displays as really dark, and so one can’t see the text / or titles.
So I switched it.
here’s a screenshot of design 2 – my theme
This one works and looks better. I think. ๐
On the right side of each topic. you see a + sign, that’s a link that leads to the Text Version of the Topic, and also an Audio version of the topic at the bottom of the linked page.
I decided to put (+) link, because in my own experience, listening to an audio bible, when I hear a specific “lesson” that I need to either remember or share, it is an easy way to actually “find it” – the specific verse reference.
Thank You God. ๐
I was asked why I decided to do the audio bible..
… lots of reasons.
I wanted to wash my brain (brainwash) with God’s Words. Again, and again. ๐
Spiritual battles can get real heavy, and I figured if I did an audio bible, it’s like reading it out loud to myself. Might come in handy when or if I get older and eyesight diminishes. Faith comes by hearing. ๐ Other sermons quote some parts of modern bibles, but I don’t want God’s Words diluted.
Another personal one, is for my future grandchildren.
I remember my grandparents, grandmothers specifically, when they would talk to me about their life, the lessons they learned, it is like I can still “hear the sound of their voices”. Some lessons that they have passed along their grandchildren.
I might not live long enough to meet my future grandchildren, so at least having this audio bible can also get passed along to them, through my son.
An audio bible would also help those other visually impaired.
I have been learning about those too. And I can relate to their requests, because I can design the audio bible in such a way that it can be useful for more people, if not all of those who will use it.
And the idea of putting an audio bible in a USB drive, when I’ve completed everything, would be useful to those who might be sick, or in a hospital, who needs to have an audio bible playing in the background.
Sick people or people near the end of their life, and those they will leave behind, need to hear God’s Words. While they still have time left on this world to repent and hear about the Good News of Jesus. ๐

Okay … going back to it.
This is the Matthew KJV Audio Page

Not complete yet, because all the recordings aren’t finished yet.
Will be testing how it displays on phone. Taking a laptop break.
Back from break.
Done.

Might be faster if I just do the recording, and then do the updates on the audio page once I finish all the recording for Matthew.
Also, i don’t want to erroneously click the “remove” button again on the audio player as I am adding more recordings. LOL!
Also, when I tested on my iphone, it looks cool ๐
I have not seen an audio bible with the “topics” as links, usually the links are to specific Chapters.
The way I designed this, it’s easier to find what you are looking for.
Also the search engine functionality on the site is pretty robust too.
When we pray for wisdom, God grants it. ๐
” 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. ” – James 1:5
