  1. ShallHelp Chat Forum : Welcome to the Chat Forum! Chat sessions are automatically erased every 60 minutes. Just select the REFRESH link above to go to the latest chat session. We are glad you are here!
    Consultant : here!
    CrisW : Me 2
Consultant : I played your game 1 and 2 on my phone! How about creating one for touch screens?
CrisW : Naaaa…. I wasjust trying to prove a point. And a Smile! Because I was able to do the Game 1 – Points, so I went on to do Game 2 – Smile! ๐Ÿ™‚
Consultant : What software did you use to make that?
    CrisW : Notepad.
    Consultant : Kidding?
CrisW : No. The usual easy and free “Notepad”. YA know, the old school way of writing code.
    CrisW : And testing code.
Consultant : Wow. So what tips when using Notepad?
CrisW : Always save it as UTF-8 because it defaults to ansi
CrisW : You can customize it too.
CrisW : My son used to create games on “Little Big Planet” when he was in his teens.
CrisW : Hobby he has outgrown. But he was great at it.
    Consultant : Cool.
Consultant : Have you decided on the Shop conversion yet for SH?
CrisW : I really am still praying about it.
Consultant : How about we demo site it again here, and then we start uploading our used products?
CrisW : Yes, I guess we can just do that.
Consultant : Brute told me about that company who tried to con you. That was really foul.
CrisW : I know. It was depressing, but God allowed me again to experience such, so that I can better appreciate the skills I already have.
Consultant : They could have just created a Schedule with you and paid you for your time.
CrisW : It’s okay. At the end of the meeting it was clear to me that the IT guy was just needing a “tutor”. At his high position, it’s actually embarrassing that he didn’t know WHAT to do.
CrisW : And after I told him what to do and how I would do it, he already got the info he needed.
Consultant : Did you do another helpaholic document?
CrisW : I wrote a “debrief”. but I never sent it. The document was for me. It’s sad when “business people” can just lie to your face and then assume you as stupid and naive, just because you’re a Christian.
CrisW : What they don’t know is that Christians can sense it when they are being lied to.
Consultant : So what do you want me to look at this session?
Consultant : The previous sessions look ok. I didn’t see anything broken.
CrisW : Ok Thanks. I’ll just do the Ticket here, too.
CrisW : We can test that tonight. I would install the Ticket first, so that as we put the Shop and MP back, I can incorporate and implement all in one fell swoop.
Consultant : The Ticket system would be for?
CrisW : Clients, Vendors, paying customers.
    CrisW : Clients, Vendors, Customers
CrisW : Everyone else (Blog Post Commenters, Forum Members, non-paying) can use the Contact Form.
Consultant : Question – between P2, and your Ticket System, which is better?
    Consultant : And why?
CrisW : My Ticket System is better because I am biased! LOL!
CrisW : Seriously, because it is housed in our own website
    CrisW : P2 is NOT.
CrisW : All the other “famous” solutions, are housed elsewhere.
CrisW : And ARE being monetized by other companies without telling the customers.
CrisW : If you look at ANY website, there MUST be a “Privacy Policy” and a “Terms of Use Policy”.
CrisW : If a website is using any form of tracking technology, they have to specify WHICH ones.
Consultant : So are you going take that project, the one you tried to do “scoping” on?
    CrisW : No.
    Consultant : Why?
CrisW : Because they are selling vapor-ware. That’s deceptive. They are tracking and recording screens of their website visitors. They don’t have that specified on their Terms of Use because they don’t even have a Terms of Use policy page.
CrisW : I don’t want to be a part of that. Being onsite, just gave me the “gut feel” that I will not be a part of that and then have my skills used that way.
Consultant : Better to know that early!
    CrisW : Yep!
CrisW : Ok, I’ll start with the Ticket DB and install. Pls. copy this on Session date.
CrisW : Oh, also, I am “considering” adding a fundraiser functionality here.
Consultant : Aside from the Paypal?
CrisW : It would still integrate with Paypal.
CrisW :It has also a built in integration with authorize dot net
CrisW : My tech company used to be one of their “resellers”. So I have an idea how they are reputable.
CrisW :They might still have me in their DB because they did a good background check and investigation on contact persons for their Fraud Prevention functionality.
Consultant : Like in a bank?
CrisW : Banks ALSO are Resellers of their payment gateway and merchant accounts. My company was ALSO a Reseller, like the banks.
CrisW : Banks just add that as an added “income or profit center” for them. It works like affiliate marketing. You are just working as a “marketing arm” but they do the rest of the work. You just refer clients to them.
Consultant :Do you want to still add that here too?
CrisW :I’ve had experience in it, it’s really intricate and complex. I’d much rather be a customer. ๐Ÿ™‚

Consultant :Hey I have a question on your games. Will you sell it?
CrisW : I don’t think so. It’s just a simple game. No trackers of course. No need to be uploaded on any app store. Just free to play here.
Consultant : You can customize more and sell it on the appstore too.

    CrisW : I can, but I won’t L:-)
Consultant : got left behind. Will copy first. brb.
CrisW : Ok. I will copy the next one so you don’t get moderated.
Consultant :Just read your comment … HEART!
Consultant :Can I embed your game?
CrisW :On your site? I don’t think so. I put a “security” mechanism in the website. It will force it to go back to the original source. You can access the file and use it if you want.
CrisW : Or I can also just share the code too, maybe on the forum. The thing is there is something that automatically wipes out some codes, either on WP which affects all codes.
CrisW : I’ll copy the code and save it as draft. Since you are an author here, you can access that. And just copy paste the code on your site.
CrisW : Oh, also, when you are working with something that would have PII, make sure that your clients don’t have those “tracker” services installed. When I was scrutinizing codes last Thursday night for another client site, I noticed that, and from what I know in THAT software, it records screens so warn your clients NOT to use it. I steer clear and far and away
CrisW : I had to warn their IT person that it’s unethical to be doing that and I will not work on what they wanted.
CrisW : I had to explain that there are a LOT of evil tech people who do that unbeknownst to their clients.
Consultant : how many troubleshooting stuff did you do from thursday to Saturday?
    CrisW : Check the tickets.
    CrisW :I was so exhausted!
CrisW :Waste of time. Anyway, it drives me to put the TICKET and CALENDAR here too.
CrisW : That will curb the helpaholic syndrome ๐Ÿ™‚
    Consultant : TRUDAT!
Consultant : Yeah, I remember you also helping those other admins – glad that one is DONE!
    CrisW :Yeah! DONE!
CrisW : Okay, we’re getting sidetracked. Will copy this. Thanksfor checking!
Consultant : NP. Actually, I love the SMILES game!
    CrisW :Good!
CrisW : Maybe I’ll make one or a touch screen version of those games next weekend. Will see.
    Consultant : YEAHHHHH!!!
Consultant :So I can remove the other games on my phone.
CrisW :I have no games on my phone. LOL!
CrisW : Why install when you can just visit the website directly and play.
    CrisW : for free
CrisW : without tracking anybody because really, who cares?
    Consultant :lol
CrisW : ok. Will Copy. ]
    Consultant : Ok

  4. Actually, I gotta do some dedications…. ๐Ÿ™‚

For my Papa, “SMILE” is also a piano piece he taught me how to play when I was a really little girl, when I would sit on the piano bench, and my feet could not even reach the piano pedals yet.

The tune goes something like “Smile, though your heart is breaking, smile, though your heart is aching …” and the piano piece is so very complex, and when a little girl, I think I was about 9 years old when I started played that song. It’s like a classical music version with all the bells and whistles, concierto type of piano piece. I remember always seeing the “awe” when I would play that piece in front of other people. Because I was still a little girl. I thought everyone can play the piano that way.

My Papa noticed that like him, I too, can literally “play it by ear”, and get to “memorize by just looking” at his fingers on the piano keyboard.

    Yeah, weird. ๐Ÿ™‚

He taught me several piano pieces, concierto like, that I have memorized, I guess via muscle memory too. Those songs will forever connect me to him.

I quit playing the piano after he died.

My friends who knew that would always “dare me” to just play again. One time as I travelled to Asia and met up with some childhood friends at a hotel lobby, we saw a grand piano.

I just got drawn to it and played! They recorded me playing and goofing around while playing. I can still play those songs. ๐Ÿ™‚

Maybe when I am ready to play again, I will take my electronic piano out of the box again. Then I would record the pieces. My Mama would remember that Papa played those songs too. My Mama and Grandmother watched me in a piano recital “the intro kid” that started a concert one time for the entire Music Department, back in the private all girls school I went to. How time flies.

Yeah, I might bring out that piano out of the box again. It’s been years since I played and that usually is a good “de-stressor” too. I’ve just been doing laptop keyboards, since. Wink, wink. When the stress was up, like it was last Saturday and Sunday (Father’s Day weekend) and Papa’s birthday, YEAH, I instead decided to make use of my brain by focusing on trying to come up with a computer game, that I have never done before. ๐Ÿ™‚

To prove a POINT and to SMILE. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s a link to the POINTS game, and a link to the SMILE game.

Then when I start playing the piano again, I will record the songs and upload them here too. There. That’s a commitment. ๐Ÿ™‚
